Know about the facts of Delhi & Jaipur

Here we tell you some interesting facts about Delhi & Jaipur. Both cities are capital, Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and Delhi is the national capital of India.

About the Delhi Histories- It has been an important political center of India as the capital of several empires. Extensive coverage of Delhi's history begins with the onset of the Delhi Sultanate in the 12th century. Since then, Delhi has been the center of a succession of mighty empires and powerful kingdoms, making Delhi one of the longest-serving capitals and one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. It is considered to be a city built, destroyed and rebuilt several times, as outsiders who successfully invaded the Indian Subcontinent would ransack the existing capital city in Delhi, and those who came to conquer and stay would be so impressed by the city's strategic location as to make it their capital and rebuild it in their own way. It is hard to beat. The moment you step out and walk through the gate across the road, you co-exist in multiple time zones, like Doctor Who. It hosts a flower festival from the Mughal era every September, which was created to celebrate the release of a young nobleman from prison who was accused of trying to murder a British resident. Side by side is buildings from the Sultanate, and Victorian follies, and tombs of Sufi saints. The most famous monument here is the Qutb Minar, standing tall since 1220, despite lightning, earthquakes, and attempts by the British to change it.

Delhi or Dilli, also famous as 'Dilwale ki Dilli' is the capital city of India and is usually known for its rich cultural heritage and lifestyle. Officially called the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT) is the largest metropolitan city of the country and the second largest with respect to the population.

Know About Jaipur-  The historic royal capital city of Jaipur in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan is a delightful and charming blend of lively culture, rich history, stunning palaces, wonderful art, and delicious cuisine. Because of this beautiful and eclectic mix, there is always something to do in Jaipur. Founded by the ruler of the city of Amer, Jai Singh II, on November 18, 1727, this eastern Rajasthani city is considered an early example of a planned Indian city.
Cultural Sites of Jaipur-

JAIGARH FORT
The Jaigarh Fort is the most imposing and spectacular fort that overlooks Jaipur. It is famous for the Jaivana cannon, considered the largest canon in the world. The fort was built by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amer fort. The fort named after its builder is also known as the fort of victory because it has never been conquered. Jaigarh stands amidst thorn-scrub covered hills with the steep road going up to the main gate, Dungar Darwaza. The fort is situated on Cheel ka Teela (Eagle’s Hill) of the Aravalli mountain range overlooking the Maota Lake and Amer Fort.

NAHARGARH FORT
Forming an impressive backdrop of Jaipur is the humongous Nahargarh fort. It was built by Jai Singh for the protection of Amer in 1734 and extended in 1868. The fort is located on the Aravali Hills. Legend has it that it was named Nahargarh after Nahar Singh, a prince whose spirit would destroy the construction and stall its progress.

AMBER FORT
Renowned for its combination of Hindu and Mughal architecture, the Amber Fort is located about 11 km from Jaipur in Rajasthan. The citadel was the seat of the Kachhawa Rajputs who ruled Amer in Rajasthan before the capital was moved to the present day Jaipur. The construction of the fort was commenced in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I over the remnants of an earlier fortified structure. The fort was built with red sandstone. It was modified by successive rulers for 150 next years.
